This funeral urn was made for my mother.  When I mentioned that I was a woodworker, the funeral director suggested I make the urn rather than purchasing one.  

It is made of spalted maple.  The top is a panel set into a groove in the sides.  The bottom is recessed into a rabbet and is screwed on.
