These are
the cars I owned when they weren't considered classics...........
My Favorite
Thought of by many as the Worlds
Ugly Tank
The 1958 Chevrolet Impala
Just so the Half-Ton-Haulers aren't
left out
The 1955 Chevrolet 1/2 Ton Pickup
The One I Wish I Still Had, The 1955
Chevrolet.
This one had:
- 283 Power Pac from a '57
Chev
- Fuel Injection Heads
- Domed Pistons
- Roller Tappet Cam
- 411 Rear End from a taxi
cab
- 2 Matched 4 barrel carbs,
matched w/manifold from a Corvette
It held the bragging rights of Central Texas until 1960
.
Remember the Jallopy Racing of the
50's and 60's?
Anyone remember Thorndale Speedway, Oak Hills Downs or Speed-O-Rama in
Central Texas?
This one had:
- '31 Dodge Body - Looked
like this only before the first race.
- Plymouth Frame - Don't
know the year, but back then you could weld and re-weld them forever.
- Chrysler Flat Head Engine
- Bored out to something.
- Chevrolet Aluminum Pistons
- to fit the holes above
- Racing Cam from JC Whitney
- eat your heart out Al Unser.
- Special Racing Tires - from
the dumpsters behind the best tire shops.
- Two Radiators - still
ran hotter than .........
- Note the Special Number on
the Side.
My daily driver!
- 57 Ford Fairlane HT-Yeah,
its a 4 door but......
- 292 V-8 - Won't win any
stoplite races but......
- Dual Exaust -With the
glass-pacs, it sounds like it could win.......
- Dodge Lancer Hub Caps- Just
like the olden days, huh.......
-
Cruiser Skirts? -Yup, finally found a pair…
What we cruse in now.
